A Necessary Step

I received an email from my agency today, stating that our updated Home Study and renewal documents are on their way to USCIS. I have no idea why I am so happy about this. Perhaps it seems to prove the passage of time, and it is evidence of forward motion. I don't know.....it is entirely possible (or probable?) we'll have to go through this a third time. I guess it is nice to be able to do "something", instead of just waiting. We should get our fingerprint invitation in about 2 weeks, and then our new I 171H about 7-12 weeks later. It is a necessary step (for us) on our long journey to Lilly.

I wrote to a friend the other day, and mentioned all the snow we have been getting. She wrote back that waiting for Lilly is a lot like the changing seasons. Right now it is cold and snowy, but God is clearing the way for Lilly to come home. She reminded me that this too shall pass, and we will soon be witness to the beauty and promise of spring.

Time never stands still, even though at times it feels like it. I am looking forward to the coming seasons, and the new journeys that await me.

What a beautiful post Ashley. Yes the seasons will pass as we wait and we are moving forward aren't we? I'm so happy we've met on this journey to our daughters. :)

I love what your friend had to say! No, time doesn't stand still and we need to continue enjoying what it has to offer while we wait.

Hi Ashley, What a lovely post! Each day is one step closer. We will get there. Sorry I haven't been around much. We are under negotiations to sell our current house and at the same time deal with getting the new house ready. I haven't had a spare moment lately. Hope everything is going well!
Love, Terri
